The DB50X is a sophisticated high-precision scientific calculator drawing inspiration from the renowned HP50G series by Hewlett-Packard. Rather than serving as an emulator, the DB50X represents a complete redesign that boasts enhanced speed and introduces unprecedented features such as computations in arbitrary precision.

Like its predecessor, the HP50G, the DB50X supports an unlimited stack, both RPN and algebraic operations, complex numbers, base numbers, vectors, matrices, text processing, symbolic computations, numerical solving and integration, graphing and plotting, as well as statistical analysis. It also includes an extensive library of equations and constants across various scientific disciplines including mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

Utilizing modern technologies, the DB50X surpasses the original HP50G in multiple respects:

• It offers significantly improved speed with reduced memory usage alongside a higher resolution 240x400 pixel graphical color display.
• It allows integer and decimal values to possess an arbitrarily large number of digits, enabling computations such as log(pi) with 200 digits in just a few keystrokes.
• The six function keys provide up to three functions per key, allowing rapid access to as many as 18 related functions simultaneously.
• Complex numbers can seamlessly interchange between polar and rectangular forms.
• Symbolic operations extend across complex numbers, vectors, and matrices.
• Base numbers can be represented in any base from 2 to 36 with support for various bit lengths, facilitating emulation of different processor architectures.
• Text representation utilizes Unicode rather than proprietary HP encoding, enhancing data interoperability.
• Multiple graphs can be distinguished through color patterns for improved visualization.
• The engineering units feature all contemporary developments of the SI system and can be customized by users; currency units can be easily integrated with real-time exchange rates.
• A built-in hyperlinked help system streamlines function documentation by simply holding the corresponding key and combines quick start guidance, a user manual, and a reference manual into one resource.
• Over 700K of memory is allocated for RPL programs.
• iCloud access allows users to save and edit programs seamlessly from their Mac.

The DB50X is compatible with many user RPL programs designed for the HP48, HP49, or HP50 series; however, it is important to note that it does not function as an emulator. Consequently, it will not run any HP binary objects or games associated with the HP50G or involve system RPL functionalities.
